Ian: Evening PCPN,

Yep, the site will indeed get a bit of a facelift over the summer - we like to mess around with it and make it look good and new. The scrolling news idea is one that we have pondered before actually, and I reckon a possibility for next season. Good thoughts - cheers. (04/05 22:59)

Pub Car Park Ninja: How about some more funky and flashy graphics (not pop ups) and how about an RSS scrolling feed or the like with latest football news from the media - BBC, Guardian, Torygraph, 365 etc?

I 3rd the 0 points option for the score. (01/05 16:01)

Bunnett: Riiiight...my sincerest apologies. Too much working in a bookies methinks! (29/04 12:56)

nbs: It's easiest not to think of getting your stake back, but of not losing it! (28/04 19:50)

Ian: Evening Bunnett, it is correct - will run through it another time to prove so, but it's one which people get confused over from time to time - maybe the issue is that we need to explain it better? (27/04 23:18)

Bunnett: This may seem a bit cheeky, but may I suggest updating the 'How To Play' page?
Currently it states that you get 2 x points bet on results / 5 x points bet on scores + your stake back when you make a correct prediction, whereas (unless my mental arithmetic is waaaaaay off - which is a distinct possibility) it seems that currently punters don't get their stake back when they make a correct prediction.

Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong!

Also, if possible could I second nbs' suggestion for 0 point bets, as it's an idea which sits well with the coward in me. (25/04 11:43)

nbs: Thanks tPs. I realise having looked at it in some detail that the format you have devised was not arrived at by pure finger in the air chance. Generally it works brilliantly.
The potential problem with rewarding scores too highly is we all have to put a minimum of 1pt on scores.
I think if someone bets EXTRA points on scores they should be richly rewarded if they get it right, but not necessarily because they were forced to put a minimum bet on the score and just got lucky. Another possibility would be to allow 0pt bets on scores (keeping the minimum 1pt bet for results). (22/04 12:35)

tPs: Much appreciated, nbs. Your points are valid and we'll certainly mull them over. The changes we already have planned for next season may go some way to creating a greater incentive to bet on scores, but perhaps we can look at the odds/points allocation as part of it.

tPs's USP is definitely the points system so we'd never get rid of it, but that doesn't mean it can't be tweaked. Thanks for the thoughts mate. (22/04 11:19)

nbs: Of course you also have to keep the proportions between the multipliers and the maximum bet sensible, else the reward for an exact score is too high.
So perhaps 1&4 would be best if there's a 30 pt bet limit. (22/04 09:24)
